It is is very solid and the Flathead V8 engine runs like new. This unique classic draws attention where ever it goes. A travel/dust cover and two classic wood paddles included. The carburator has received a new carb kit along with new adjustable jets, and the raw water pump and cooling system has been cleaned and adjustments made to offset the traditional hotter running ford flatheads. Trailer wheel bearings have been checked and repacked. The trailer has been professionally gone thru with new wiring and lights. The boat comes with a custom high quality trailer (18' 6") which allows the Classic to be stored in most standard garages for easy storage and access. This beautiful example of a classic was stored in an environmentally controlled storage facility for over a decade, and was bought from an estate, brought to Colorado, gone thru and freshened and tuned. Design by Custom Craft and privately built in 1991, the boat and motor have less than 45 hrs on the meter. With its ideal 20-foot size, the 20' Custom Runabout is a perfect runabout, and this one is ready to be enjoyed!Ĭlassic 1960 16' Design Woodie Runabout, with a NoSoak Fiberglass bottom, and powered by a refurbished classic 1940 Ford Flathead V8 Mini, 60 hp. Due to their rarity, few of these boats remain in existence. The boat comes complete with a custom cover and a custom tandem axle trailer. In the spring of 2023, the bottom was repainted. In the spring of 2021, routine maintenance was performed, including rebuilding the carburetor, installing a new water pump impeller, fitting new spark plugs, and replacing the throttle cable. The fuel tank and lines were also replaced at that time. In 2006, the engine was replaced with a small block 350 V8. All the original factory hardware, including the fold-down windshield, is included with the boat. The correct Iva Lite spotlight was installed, and all chrome accents were re-chromed, buffed, and reinstalled. The bilge was thoroughly cleaned and repainted. The topside finish was stripped and meticulously redone with 12 coats of varnish. Additionally, a new chine plank was added on the starboard side. A new upholstery was installed, while the bottom, although in good condition, underwent sanding, tightening of fasteners, recaulking of seams, and a fresh coat of bottom paint. The current owner acquired this boat in 2010 and began restoration work in 2011. During their heyday, these boats were known for their luxuriousness, featuring genuine leather upholstery and a sturdy 4-piece folding windshield. It was among the first post-war runabouts to showcase the distinctive blond decking. This is hull number 334, was built in the final year. The Chris Craft 20ft Custom Runabout succeeded the pre-war 19ft Custom Runabout or Barrel Back.
